How we review

How we review products

Every MnOnk buying guide answers one search, for a buyer in India, with products that are on sale on Amazon.in or Flipkart when the page is updated. This page explains that process so you can judge a recommendation instead of taking the headline on trust.

One guide, one job

A page titled “best monitor under ₹10,000” is not a general monitor encyclopedia. The price in the title is a hard cap. If a model’s live price is over the cap on check day, it does not stay in the shortlist. A different budget, size, or product type gets its own page only when a shopper would want a different answer. We do not keep two live articles for the same shortlist.

Where the facts come from

  • Price. Copied from the Amazon.in or Flipkart listing we link, on the date named in the guide. Sale weeks move these numbers by a few thousand rupees. The article tells you to confirm the variant before payment.
  • Star rating. Copied from that same listing’s buyer stars. It is not a MnOnk lab score. A 3.7-star model can still be the right pick if the alternatives at that price are worse, and the guide should say so.
  • Specs. Taken from the brand’s India page or the store listing for that model number. We match the variant (RAM, capacity, star rating of an AC) so a cheaper sibling SKU is not described with a costlier one’s features.
  • What we skip. Brochure lines that do not change the decision, and any number we cannot point to a listing or brand page.

How a shortlist is chosen

We start from the budget and the job: a student laptop, a 7 kg washer, a cooler for one room. Then we open current India listings and throw out anything over the cap, out of stock, or the wrong type (a fully automatic washer in a semi-automatic roundup, for example). The remaining models are ordered by who should buy them, not by who paid for a placement. There is no paid rank.

Each pick gets a plain reason to buy it and an honest limit: dim panel, patchy service outside metros, a filter you must replace, a rating pool that is still small. If we would not shortlist it for that budget, it is not in the table.

What “we recommend” means

“We recommend” means Soumya Roy would shortlist that model from the live store pages for the budget in the title. It does not mean the unit was used for a week in a test lab. Store reviews are a signal about other buyers, not a substitute for you checking warranty and pin-code service.

Updates

Prices, stock, and star ratings go stale. When a guide is refreshed, the check month stays in the article. If a model is discontinued or the price cap no longer holds, it comes off the list. Older URLs that covered the same shortlist redirect to the current guide.

A quicker check

If you already have a product link, use Product Check. Paste an Amazon.in, Flipkart, JioMart, Reliance Digital, or Tata CLiQ URL to see the live price and store rating without reading a full guide.

Corrections

If a model name, price, or spec is wrong, email contact@mnonk.com with the page URL and the listing you are looking at. Weekday messages are read by Soumya. Sponsored placement is not offered.
